Get to know Matt Lundy!
Matt Lundy grew up in Lorain County and has spent his career serving the public through journalism, local government, and the Ohio House. His background gives him a strong understanding of public issues and a practical approach to solving problems for local families.
A graduate of Avon Lake High School, Matt attended Lorain County Community College and later earned a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.
Matt began his career in broadcasting while still in high school, hosting a radio show on WLRO 1380 in Lorain. His television career later took him across the country, including stops in Toledo, Utah, Tennessee, Mississippi, and North Carolina, where he was named Television Journalist of the Year by the North Carolina Radio Television News Directors Association. He also served as a statewide political correspondent in West Virginia, covering government and public affairs.
Matt later served on Avon Lake City Council and in Elyria city government as assistant safety/service director, helping save taxpayer dollars through smarter negotiations and cost-saving measures.
In the Ohio House, Matt focused on education, economic development, consumer protection, and support for veterans and seniors. He’s running again because Lorain County families deserve practical, accountable leadership in Columbus.
