Matt Lundy

For the 57th Ohio House seat

State Rep. Matt Lundy, D-Elyria, is a smart, devoted legislator with a keen political sense.  We don’t always agree with him, but he’s more than earned a second term to represent the 57th Ohio House District.

The district contains five of Elyria’s seven wards as well as Avon Lake, Avon, North Ridgeville and other parts of eastern Lorain County.

Lundy won a mild upset over a far inferior opponent, incumbent Republican Earl Martin, in 2006.  Since beginning his term, he has shown a zest for the job, and a real interest in passing good legislation.  That includes the state’s crackdown on payday lenders, which Legislature approved earlier this year.

Re-elect Matt Lundy

State Representative in 57th House District

Two years ago, we endorsed Democrat Matt Lundy of Elyria in his successful campaign to win the 57th District seat in the Ohio House of Representatives.  He has lived up to our expectations.

Lundy, 48, has proven himself to be an able legislator in Columbus, and he deserves re-election on Nov. 4.

Lundy has supported Gov. Strickland’s Building Ohio Jobs Plan to foster job creation here and statewide.  He also is part of the push to make Lorain County a focal point for alternative energy equipment manufacturing and power generation.

To help make college more affordable, Lundy supported the two-year tuition freeze and sponsored a bill to make textbooks more affordable.
